From a standpoint, Cafés largely serve as centres of social interaction, providing a place for people to gather, talk and chit-chat. However, today the bar to attract attention has been raised manifold. While good atmosphere of a café has become a pre-requisite, customers also expect a high level of creativity in the whole concept as well as quality in the food and drinks served. Though being unique is a factor, don’t forget to balance it with simplicity is crucial too. So who are trending now? Let’s check out !
We have been given an assignment to be completed for E-Commerce subject. We worked in a group of five. As you guys can see in the pictures above on the left side start wearing the blue is me, that is WAN RESHIDA ( WAN IDA) , next to me is TARANJEET KAUR, in the middle is BASANT SINGH, THARANI APATURA and last but not least SANGEETA MOHAN.
The assignment required us to choose a café and to find out about the café’s background and organisation. The cafe that we chose is MARCASS CAFE.
First, we made an appointment with the café owner on Thursday, 1st December 2016. We as a group went to the café on the appointment day. We have fixed the appointment on 5th December 2016 at 6.30 pm. However, we started our interview at 8pm because the owner arrived late due to some issues. So, we had our dinner there while waiting for him to arrive. Besides that, we have also had some time to interview the kitchen helper. He shared a bit of the café’s signature food recipe with us.
They came out with different types of cuisines such as Western and Malaysian. In order to be different from other eateries, they came out with the idea of preparing various types of beverages. The food is served with a large portion with a reasonable price which this is one of their objectives to serve people with a fully and happy tummy. They will also play live music on every Friday at 8pm to 12am to entertain their customers. Hence, the café’s peak hour is at 8pm. The most favourable or preferable menus among most customers are ‘meehon sarang’(RM6.90), the signature food ‘chicken palermore’ (RM15.90), ‘burger chicken run’ (RM7.90), ‘macaroni cheese’ (RM7.90) and ‘mocktail’ (RM6.90).
THE ENVIRONMENT
The interior design of the café is simple and unique. They have wooden tables and chairs as well as paintings on the wall. This environment will give people a peaceful and relaxing mind while they are enjoying their meals in this café.
Once the owner arrived, we started interviewing the owner and jotted down some important information. We have been introduced to the owner’s friend who is one of his partners of the café. Before we leave, we took some photographs with the owner.
